Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and PDF Password Helper, a solo-operated service, governing your use of the website, browser extension, and related services (the "Service").

If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.

2. Accounts and eligibility

To access a paid plan, you must provide a valid email address and complete the sign-up or checkout flow. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Notify us at support@smartpdfunlocker.com if you believe your account has been used without permission.

3. License and acceptable use

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Service for personal or internal business use during your subscription term.

Your plan covers one customer account unless a separate written arrangement says otherwise. You may use the Service across your own devices for personal or internal business use.

• Monthly plan: billed monthly until cancelled
• Annual plan: billed annually until cancelled
• Custom arrangements: as agreed in writing

If sign-in or sync stops working after a reinstall, browser reset, or ordinary device change, contact support with your order details and we will help review account access.

You agree not to resell, sublicense, reverse engineer (except where permitted by law), or use the Service to access documents you are not authorized to open.

4. Trial, subscriptions, and billing

Subscriptions may be monthly or annual where offered on the pricing page. Fees are billed in advance through our payment processor. Taxes may apply and are your responsibility where required by law.

Plan changes. Available monthly and annual options are shown on the pricing page. Any promotional or trial terms, if offered, will be shown during checkout.

Auto-renewal. Unless you cancel before the renewal date, your subscription renews automatically for the next billing period.

5. Service updates

We may release updates that add features, fix bugs, or maintain browser compatibility. Updates are included during your active subscription.

6. Your content and privacy

The Service is designed so that your PDF documents remain on your device during processing. If you use account sync, the data fields and password recipes you save are stored by the Service so they can sync to your dashboard and extension. The personal data we collect and how we use it are described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with applicable law and any permissions tied to the documents you open.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its code, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by PDF Password Helper or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights beyond the limited license described above.

8. Termination

You may cancel a subscription at any time, and the cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay fees, or use the Service in a way that we reasonably believe may harm the Service or other users.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or successful unlocking of every PDF, especially where a file uses non-standard encryption, DRM, or a password pattern we cannot infer.

We do not provide legal, financial, or compliance advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our principal place of business, except where mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

If you have a dispute, email legal@smartpdfunlocker.com first so we can try to resolve it informally.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will post the updated version here and may notify active subscribers by email.

13. Custom arrangements

Custom arrangements may include additional order terms or service expectations that are listed in a separate agreement. If there is a conflict, the signed agreement controls for that customer.
